The Programme

ESP conferences are working conferences. In the end participants should have achieved something to take back home and to school: preferably an idea, outline, scenario or plan to actually implement with ones pupils or students in collaboration with one or more colleague-teachers and their pupils in another country.

The conference can be seen as a design process: we start with basics, then with inspiration and then we go on to design and planning sessions. In the end we register on the web what we have decided together.

These individual and collective processes mean that we can only offer a rough guideline on what is actually going to happen. So please anticipate changes in this programme. And please envisage yourself as an active participant, able to change the programme yourself!

One of the assumptions is that participants want to be able to connect to their practices, with the wish to improve and renew that. So in the programme we clustered for the Thursday and part of the Friday around themes like modern foreign languages, science, social sciences, younger children and special needs or inclusive education.

But the conference is about inter- and multidisciplinary projects in which collaboration is a central issue, both within and between schools. It will be important not only to stick to the subject matter one is teaching in school.

We hope that the menu looks good, and the food itself even better! But you have to help cooking and serving! Enjoy yourselves!
