The 19th ESP-COMP@CT conference started


 

Almost all EU countries, Iran and the USA were represented as the 19th ESP-COMP@CT conference started in Järvenpää Hall March 10 2005.
More than 200 participants were present at the opening where the keynote speaker Riitta Vänskä from Nokia company gave her presentation about mobile learning. Learning does not only go mobile, she said, learning is mobile!
The conference was greeted by Rainer Domisch, from the Educational Board of Finland, by Mayor Erkki Kukkonen from Järvenpää city and by Nina Rekola from CIMO, the National Socrates agency.
Henk Sligte from the ESP presented ESP/ECOLE, and Pentti Pirhonen told about COMP@CT.

The Comenius 3 networks COMP@CT and ECOLE backed the conference. The researchers Teemu Leinonen and Jürgen Scheible from the Helsinki University of Industrial Art and Design presented their collaborative mobile learning demo which will be put into practice in the Järvenpää upper secondary school where the conference continues on Friday, March 11. Later on Friday the conference moves to the cruise Helsinki - Stockholm - Helsinki.

 

The first day of the 3rd International DaF Workshop on Thursday March 10 2005 was full of interesting presentations about current topics of German language teaching. There were teachers and professors of German from 10 countries represented in the workshop in Kerava upper secondary school.
